I think one day, I’ll just go off the grid and read, write, and listen to music, spending most of my time alone except for maybe church and a few friends. Maybe occasional shopping outings. Technology and life in this digital age? It’s too much. Take it back to landline. Don’t have my postal address? Guess you can’t reach me. I don’t even want a TV or streaming. I can’t miss what I don’t know I’m missing. Is there a nuclear war happening? I’ll be better off knowing once I’m in heaven than spending my remaining days on earth freaking out about dying.
I know this is all a pipe dream given our increasingly interconnected society, but I’m a child of the last millennium. I wasn’t built to handle all this. I hope my kids adapt a whole lot better.
